At the age of only 19, Chris was named as one of the University of Strathclyde’s ‘Rising Stars’, making him the youngest ever entrepreneur on the program. Since then, he has gone on to raise over £200k in funding and various prestigious titles such as ‘The Herald’s Digital Student Entrepreneur of the Year’. Chris’ passion, creativity and personal experiences of being a dyslexic student are invaluable contributions to the Estendio team. To read more about Chris' Journey, read our blog!
CHAIR OF THE BOARD NICOLA HARKNESS
Nicola has an array of exceptional marketing experience from companies such as Schlumberger, Cairn Energy and most recently, CompanyNet. Alongside her project management and problem-solving skills, Nicola’s excellent relationship with Chris has made her a crucial asset at Estendio. Additionally, having 2 dyslexic sons drives Nicola’s social passion to make education accessible for everyone.
NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOHN ANDERSON
As a well-known specialist in entrepreneurship and growth in Scotland, John brings an abundance of knowledge and experience to Estendio. Having been the co-founder of Entrepreneurial Scotland, Chief Executive of the Entrepreneurial Exchange, Head of SME Engagement at Strathclyde Business School and many more impressive roles, John is an outstanding mentor for the Estendio team.
Iain is Estendio’s lead software developer with an in-depth knowledge of JAVA, C# and PHP. Whilst working as CEO for Cojengo, Iain also worked part-time for Estendio to build Present Pal. He has now started his own consultancy company Appinica, and so his business skills mixed with his technical expertise make him a fantastic resource. Over the past 3 years, Iain has formed a great chemistry with Chris where they can challenge and get the best out of each other.
Following a successful summer internship in 2017, Estendio employed Ruairidh part-time throughout his final year at Strathclyde. After graduating with an Honours Degree in Finance, Ruairidh became Estendio’s first full-time employee with a significant amount of his wages being paid by ‘The Glasgow Guarantee’. Ruairidh has adopted a great start up mentality, with his universal skillset allowing him to work on a whole range of tasks from product testing, video editing, sales and finance.
After completing a summer marketing internship in 2018, Estendio has now employed Leah as Marketing Coordinator. Leah has recently graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Politics from The University of Glasgow and a portion of her wages will also be supported through ‘The Glasgow Guarantee’. With fantastic copy writing and communication skills – Leah has taken the Estendio team to the next level, adding real depth and personality to the office.
